TRAVEL THRU HISTORY

WITH ROHAN BELL

Explore the real places behind the Bible, ancient history, and the world of Scripture

Travel Thru History helps you discover the real places behind the Bible and history so that we can better understand what happened there, why it mattered, and what it means for our faith today.

The Bible was not written in an imaginary world. The people, places, events, cities, roads, temples, ruins, and landscapes we read about were all real. And when we begin to see those places in their historical and geographical setting, something shifts. The Bible becomes more vivid, more concrete, and often easier to understand. Passages that once felt distant or abstract suddenly begin to come alive.

Travel Thru History exists to help you experience that. Through on-location videos, historical explanation, travel insights, and practical reflection, we explore biblical sites, ancient ruins, important historical locations, and the wider world behind Scripture. Rather than simply reading about these places, we step into them, ask what happened there, and discover why they still matter.

Because standing in a place, even virtually, can change the way we understand it. When we see the Sea of Galilee, walk through the ruins of ancient Jerusalem, stand in the streets of Rome and Athens, or visit places like Ephesus, Corinth, Capernaum, or the Mount of Olives, we begin to understand the Bible differently. We notice things we may have missed before. We see how geography, distance, culture, architecture, and history shaped the events we read about. And often, from that moment on, we never read those passages in the same way again.

Travel Thru History is more than just travel content. It is about connecting biblical history, archaeology, and real-world locations with the story of Scripture in a way that is clear, practical, and deeply engaging. It is about helping us move beyond simply knowing that something happened, to understanding where it happened, what that place was like, and why that context matters for us in the 21st Century.

Along the way, we explore questions such as:

  • What happened at this biblical or historical site?

  • Why is this place important in the story of the Bible?

  • What does archaeology tell us about this location?

  • How does visiting this place change the way we understand Scripture?

  • What do most people miss when they come here?

  • If we are planning a trip, what should we know before we visit?

You will often hear things like:

  • “This will change the way you understand the Bible…”

  • “From now on, you will picture this place every time you read this passage…”

  • “Before you visit this location, you need to know this…”

  • “Most people come here and miss this completely…”

  • “If you are travelling here, do not miss this…”

Travel Thru History is about more than simply learning geographical or historical facts. It’s about bringing the world of the Bible into focus. It’s about helping us see that these events happened in real places, to real people, in a real world. And as we begin to understand that world more clearly, we often discover that Scripture becomes richer, more meaningful, and more connected to our own lives than we had realised.

7 Biblical Places That Change How You Read The Bible

The Bible did not happen in a vague, distant world. It happened in real places, with streets, hills, harbours, temples, marketplaces, crowds, politics, pressure and ordinary people trying to follow God.

In this visually rich and accessible book, Rohan Bell takes you through Jerusalem, Galilee, Caesarea, Athens, Corinth, Ephesus and Rome, helping you see how each place can bring fresh clarity, imagination and depth to the way you read Scripture.

Whether you are preparing to travel, teaching the Bible, leading a small group, or simply wanting the world of Scripture to feel less distant, this book will help you picture the Bible with fresh eyes.
